After waking up from an eleven-month coma following a massive embolic stroke, Dave, once an active father and engineer, found himself facing a grim prognosis of permanent disability.

Through the expert care and unwavering support of the Barrow Neurological Institute, particularly the Petznick Stroke Center and the Barrow Center for Transitional Neuro-Rehabilitation, he defied expectations, reclaiming mobility, speech and independence.

Today, Dave works with the Barrow Neurological Foundation to make personal thank you calls to supporters of Barrow and to share his own near-fatal stroke story with them and let them know that their support of Barrow helped make his extraordinary recovery possible.

The Center for Transitional Neuro-Rehabilitation (CTN) offers intensive, outpatient, holistic, and milieu treatment for adults and adolescents 14 years and up who have been referred to the center.
