"Barrow gave me my life back."
Arturo Monroy is a proud husband, father, and grandfather who has always lived his life to the fullest and has a truly special bond with his family. Arturo and his wife are both Deaf, relying solely on sign language to communicate with the world.
After a horrific car accident in September 2021, Arturo was airlifted to Barrow Neurological Institute with a broken neck and massive brain trauma resulting in the loss of movement in all four of his limbs. Arturo thought he would never be able to communicate with his family again, but the team at the Barrow Neuro-Rehabilitation Center assured him that they would fight as hard as they could to help him not only move his hands again, but also walk again.
The Neuro-Rehabilitation Center provides a complete spectrum of care, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, work and school re-entry programs, and opportunities to participate in adaptive recreation and support groups. Donate today to help patients like Arturo get their lives back. All donations will be matched by Traci and Jim Swanson up to $25,000.
